| 7/1997 - present | The Pennsylvania State
University, University Park, Pennsylvania Research Assistant - Penn State Institutes of Energy & the Environment. Currently part of a team developing GIS Applications for use in water quality and other environmental applications. Expertise includes HTML programming for Web development and GIS applications development using Visual Basic and ArcView programming tools. Primary development has been using ArcView to develop interfaces to water quality models. These include the AGNPS model, GWLF model, and PRedICT. The latter two models are written in Visual Basic. ArcView is used to obtain data from GIS layers and perform calculations to create run files for these modes. Models are run from the interface, then the model output can be displayed in the ArcView application. Other projects have included development of an ArcView assessment tool for use by the Pennsylvania State Conservation Commission which allows users to enter data and generate reports on dirt and gravel roads throughout the state. |
|
| 7/1991 - 7/1997 | The Pennsylvania State
University, University Park, Pennsylvania Senior Research Technologist - Part of a team developing AI applications for use in water quality assessment, agricultural non-point source pollution control, and effectiveness of agricultural best management practices (BMPs) using decision support systems (DSS) and GIS applications. Also perform HTML programming for the Web and develop other interactive Internet applications that use DSS. Develop graphic illustrations for use on the World Wide Web, and also act as resident climatologist/meteorologist for certain projects. |

| 5/1989 - 7/1991 | ZedX, Inc., Boalsburg,
Pennsylvania Technical Support (part-time position) Performed technical support for the development of climatological data bases for use in agricultural consulting. Performed data entry, error checking and quality control of climatological data bases. |
|
| 10/1990 - 2/1991 | MESO, Inc., Troy, New York and
ZedX, Inc., Boalsburg Pennsylvania Technical Support Assisted in performing literature search for technical reports. Developed benchmarks for numerical modeling programs. Developed database files for the company's technical literature and technical reference library. |
|
Occupational Interests: Working with computer modeling software, in addition to data collection, entry and analysis. I am also interested in learning how to use different databases for analysis or research, or other types of environmental field data. |
