Formed in 2001, the group studies a wide range of applied software and systems engineering issues.

The group actively seeks partnerships with government and industry, and works aggressively to disseminate its findings in journals, books and proceedings.  

The research interests of the group currently include:

• Understanding how NFR manifest in systems, and how to develop systems to meet NFRs.
• Analysis and evolution of open source software systems
• Global software development and management
• Requirements engineering for software and systems
• Architectural analysis, evolution, and repair
