Our goal is to interview a sample of highly placed hotel industry executives to learn about their perceptions of stress and pressure in the hotel industry as well as to discuss issues of strategic management. We will also interview hotel general managers in order to obtain their views about how management issues at the property levels. In phone interview sessions, we will survey a larger sample of hotel department managers. From these department managers, we would also like to interview their spouse/partner (where applicable). We think spouses’/partners’ perspectives are important to learn about. Our research also looks at how hourly associates, specifically those who are parents, balance work-life issues.
