Photos of Hawai'i in banner.

Aloha!

Shelly's Photo. Welcome to my personal Website. I created this site as my final project for a Computer Science 097a class. Although I am an Information Technology Manager at Penn State, I am by no means a Website developer. I had fun with this site, though. I hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

The photos you see above are from a recent trip to Hawai'i. I simply love Hawai'i, its culture and its people. As such, I decided to focus on Hawai'i for this site.

Ua Mau ke Ea o ka ʻĀina i ka Pono
(The life of the land is perpetuated in its righteousness - Wikipedia translation)

Why Hawai'i?

I guess if I had to rank order my reasons, they would be as follows.

  1. ʻOhana - my husband and his family are from Hawai'i.
  2. Culture - everyone should learn more about the rich culture and history.
  3. Breathtaking beauty - vistas, rainbows, waterfalls, volcanos, beaches, etc.
  4. Flowers - amazing variety and abundant color
  5. ʻOno kine grinds - great food!

Hibiscus Photo. Each time we visit the Islands, it becomes so much more difficult to return to the Mainland. I am so happy my sister was able to visit Hawai'i before she passed away. I only hope I can convince my brother and mother to come with us the next time we go. I know they will love it as I do..
