Okay, here I am at yet another Al show, my ninth of this Running With Scissors Tour. They have to be great or I wouldn't still be going. I drove to Rochester and stayed with Lynn who I met on the newsgroup and in person in Easton, PA in February. Jackie and Shelley were already there by the time I arrived. We were introduced to Al the duck who just hatched a few days earlier and Jackie gave him a clean "bill" (get it??) of health. We had a wonderful bar-b-que before the show thanks to Lynn's spatula wielding husband, Mark. After dinner we took lots of pictures of all of us and then headed to the venue where we parked almost right beside the buses.

When we first got to the venue and took our seats (front row left) we noticed that there was an orchestra pit right in front of us (and this was a real pit too, about four or five feet down). Also right in front of us were huge equipment boxes down in the pit that Al would eventually walk out on during OMM to get to the audience. Shelley was on the aisle, then me and then Jackie and Lynn. OMM started and Al walked right toward us and made BIG eye contact with Shelley but no scarf (oh darn). Al went to the back of the venue and on his way back down the aisle I said to Shelley "He's going to give you the boxers." Al stopped just ahead of us with his back to us and pulled the boxers from his pants and turned around gave them to Shelly. I was so thrilled for her.

After the show we went outside and waited at the back of the venue (where we just happened to also be parked) and after a while Skip came out and gave us the no photos, no life stories routine and we were taken inside to
see Al. Jon was on his way out of the venue just as we were going in and even though our meeting was very brief, it was so nice to see him and to get a hug (he's just so darn cute). When it was my turn to see Al, I stepped up to the table and Al said "Hi Sue." It just amazes me how he remembers everyones names. I showed him my
"Weird Al" bag and he seemed to really like it. It's a black bag that has 9 photo inserts so the entire front of this bag hold pics of Al in concert and backstage photos that I've taken. I got lots of positive comments from complete strangers about the bag. Then I got a hug from Al and was on my way (thanks Angela for taking this pic). Thanks to Shelley for taking this pic of Al and I. I was so happy that I was there when Angela and Lynn met Al for the first time.

We ended our evening by going back to Lynn's house and ate Twinkie Weiner Sandwiches. It wasn't bad going down but my belly didn't feel so good a few minutes later. We stayed up until almost 2:30 watching Al's video collection, talking, giggling and sharing stories. What fun.

I want to thank Shelly, Lynn, Jackie, Tera, Angela, and Denise for making this trip so much fun. You are all such
warm/friendly/fun people and I'm so happy to call you my friends.

I didn't take many pictures during this show. I find that when you constantly have your camera in front of your face trying to get that perfect shot I was missing out on a lot. Here are some of the few photos that I took. Try to guess what my favorite oufit of Al's is. :-)
