You Can Teach An Old Dog New Tricks

timemag_preview.jpg

In a recent article in Forbes, the top technologies that senior citizens love are outlined. They are Brain Age (a video game on Nintendo DS that features mental exercises), the GPS shoe, QuietCare Monitoring Device (a device that monitors seniors' movements at home to make sure they're safe and healthy), Tek Partner Ginormous Remote Control, the Wii, Jitterbug Cellphone, and YouTube Videos. I love these technologies as well and wonder what technologies I will be using when I am a senior citizen. Here is a sweet YouTube video.

We're going to be a fascinating generation of senior citizens. Of course, I'm sure by the time we get to be of age to retire, we'll all be living longer, and we'll have to work longer to support our extended retirement years. Sometimes I wonder if technology makes survival too easy. Like we're not weeding out enough of the stragglers anymore. I guess arguably that might be a good thing, but there's only so much space for people on the planet, and we're living longer and everything. Seems to be inviting war, plage and famine to knock the numbers down, or maybe we should get to work on colonizing Mars/the moon or somesuch.

Wow, sorry. That was a lot of random ranting.
