Stomping On Eggshells
My name is Sean Cook, and I am currently Assistant Director of Residence Life for North Halls and West Halls at Penn State University's main campus, University Park.
Through this blog, I hope to share a little about myself, as well as my thoughts and reflections on working with college students, careers in student affairs, trends in higher education, and other issues pertinent to student success in college. I may also use this blog to share information about policies, programs and issues of concern for North and West Halls residents.
On the personal side, I hope to share my perspectives on family, culture, technology, music and home life . I am married with 2 small children, and I enjoy being a dad. I also am a big pop culture and technology geek, with a penchant for indie rock, gardening, and random home renovation shows.
I'm calling my blog "Stomping On Eggshells" because I generally don't tiptoe around how I feel about things. I'm not exactly delicate nor refined. I pretty much say what is on my mind, and I don't consider many topics taboo. I also don't think there are many sacred cows, or that there is some established "canon" that can't be examined, rejected, deconstructed, or even ridiculed. If it's worth thinking about, it's worth talking about, and yes, worthy of criticism as well as praise. I'm not trying to offend anyone by sharing my thoughts. I just don't have the same need to filter them like some people do.
Thanks for taking the time to visit. Feel free to comment on my posts. I'd love to get your thoughts and maybe even strike up some conversations.
