Teaching Philosophy
Here are a few of my beliefs that shape my teaching style.
- Anybody can master basic mathematics.
- Mathematics is as much about confidence as competence.
- There is no substitute for practice when it comes to learning mathematics.
- 90% of all math difficulties in low-level math classes can be solved by students learning to treat mathematics as a language, and learning to communicate and operate within the rules of that language (e.g. use equal signs where they belong).
