Our AC Motor

Alex donated this to our project in order to give our audience a better look at an AC motor. As one can see, he has taken off the outer casing to expose the innards of the motor. The stator, which is the part that caries the AC current and creates a rotating magnetic field, the rotor, which is the part that contains the bundles of copper wire, and some of the circuitry are all visible. The technology behind the AC motor has changed over the decades, but the original concepts and principles remain intact. Below are other examples of older AC motors including Tesla's design, which is listed first.
