Welcome to Rui Li's homepage
I am a Ph.D. Candidate majoring in geography at The Pennsylvania
State University working within The Human Factors In GIScience Lab
of GeoVISTA Center with my advisor Dr. Alexander Klippel.
GIScience has become my interest of study since my college year. My research mainly
focus on the cognitive aspects of GIScience--wayfinding
behaviors and evente conceptualization.
Currently, I am working on my dissertation which address human wayfinding behaviors in
complex buildings such as public libraries. The findings are essential to the design of wayfinding aids for those complex buildings.
On one hand, using space syntax methods to is a valuable way to formally characterize the physical environment. On the other hand,
behavioral experiments are also critical to understand the impacts of our individual differences. More information can be found on my
Research page.
