Connect

Engaging your social network can take place in many different ways, and in many different places. Some of the ways I get to engage with my community.

Events.
ldsc.jpgLearning Design Summer Camp
The first ETS unconference, designed to bring together instructional designers, faculty, librarians, and learning technologists across Penn State to discuss learning design, education technology, and issues related to implementation, innovation, course design, content development, student outcomes, and community engagement.

dctg.jpgDigital Commons Tailgate
A community-built unconference exploring multiple aspects of digital media for teaching and learning, including pedagogy, technology, and how people interact. Participants collectively develop a series of best practices which inform how we use digital media in the classroom, taking into account how today's students learn, and the tools and technologies they're immersed in.

Committees.
tltsym.jpgTLT Symposium (Program Committee, Rogue Team)
Faculty are invited to learn and share effective uses of technology to enhance teaching and learning at the free Penn State Symposium for Teaching and Learning with Technology: A Symposium of Faculty Excellence. A one day event held early Spring, recently expanded to include a half day workshops prior to the symposium.

psuweb.jpgWeb Conference (Program Committee)
This annual conference brings Penn State Web professionals together to share information and learn about innovative uses of the Web, applications for Web development, works in progress, security issues, and more.

If it’s a good idea and it gets you excited, try it, and if it bursts into flames, that’s going to be exciting too. People always ask, ‘What is your greatest failure?’ I always have the same answer—We’re working on it right now, it’s gonna be awesome! —Jim Coudal
