Ignorance.is.not.bebo
Reading some headlines from my RSS feed I discovered an interesting site called bebo. Bebo is just like any other profile site which contains the obvious set of features any Facebook or Myspace user should be accustomed too. What makes this site so special is the user-base behind it. Apparently there are over 40 million registered users hailing from the UK, Ireland, and New Zealand. After I read this little excerpt I was amazed that there was such a large user base for a virtually unheard of networking site, at least in the US. This was amazing to me because I usually feel that I am generally an open person who is well knowledgeably and I completely let this website slip out from under my radar. I guess when people are conditioned to accept what others say, it is hard to explore any other possible outlets on their own. I guess bebo is a fine reminder that Myspace and Facebook are not the only players in town, especially after AOL bought bebo.
