Biography

I was born in Austin, Texas, but I have lived most of my life in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where I completed my B.A. with a double major in Hispanic Studies and Modern Languages.  I am currently a graduate student in the Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese Department majoring in Hispanic Linguistics.  Within the field, my interests lie in syntax, sociolinguistics, and historical linguistics.  Under the supervision of Dr. Giuli Dussias and Dr. Chip Gerfen, I am engaged in research on Spanish-English code-switching at the auxiliary phrase.  The investigation of this topic is realized by means of quantitative experiments, using techniques such as eye-movement and reaction times. In addition, I am a teaching assistant of Spanish 003.
