I was born and raised in Fargo, ND:

which is why I don't take complaints about the weather in Pennsylvania very seriously. To transition into a more hospitable climate, I went to undergrad in balmy upstate New York. Originally a computer engineering major, I realized the mathematical aspects of engineering were what interested me so I cut out the middle man, switched to math, and haven't looked back.

During my free time I enjoy cooking, ingesting news (NYT and NPR), reading, playing Magic (mostly on modo), being conspired against in complicated board games, and watching hockey--go Flyers! I also somewhat grudgingly run and bike. I fear my leg muscles will take a long time acclimating to the hills in State College though.
