Philodendron sp.

Common name: Philodendron

Other cultivars and species: Several species are used in interiorscapes. The most common is P. scandens (heart-leaf philodendron).

Family: Araceae

Zone: Tropical

Identifying characteristics: Leathery heart shaped or highly lobed and dissected leathery leaves on large vines. Sap may cause skin irritation and severe discomfort if ingested. Monstera deliciosa  is split leaf philodendron and can be difficult to differentiate from some of the philodendron species with dissected leaves

Culture and use notes: Use in containers, Interiorscapes. Grows best in fairly bright indirect light.
