Zone: Varies - P. drummondii; annual, P. paniculata; 4-8, P subulata; 3-8.

Identifying characteristics: Simple entire leaves usually opposite. Five petaled flowers with a tubular center often in clusters.

Culture and use notes: Use in a mixed border, as a mass planting, or groundcover. Subject to powdery mildew in late summer.
