Current Questions

  • How does stigma influence the structure and patterns of social dynamics?
  • How does engagement in stigma-related communication impact host stress responses and immunity?
  • Can we increase the uptake of evolution-proof drugs, vaccines and insecticides?
  • Can we increase the uptake of low-P beans so as to improve soil quality and food security?
  • Can we introduce malaria and nutritional interventions in ways that prompt human-nature dynamics with positive, instead of negative, outcomes?
  • Can we introduce malaria vector-control interventions that address insecticide resistance without generating user resistance?

Examples of Recent Work

With Matt Thomas and Andrew Read, we are investigating product delivery issues and campaign recommendations to generate uptake of their new biological pesticides in Mozambique. This project also studies the concurrent introduction of new legume cultivars, being developed by Jonathan Lynch's research group, and their economic implications, analyzed by Jill Findeis's group (College of Agriculture).
