Textbook and Other Demonstrations

Witte & Witte’s Statistics—This is the home page for the textbook we’re using. It has links to the interactive demonstrations that are mentioned in the text. Try them!

Normal Distribution Applet—Input lower and upper z-score boundaries and it will calculate the proportion of scores in that area. Use 4.0 or -4.0 to indicate that you want the tail. (When tested at home on August 21, 2006, the link worked but the applet did not appear.)

On-line instructional material

HyperStat On-line from Rice University--A source of alternative explanations for course content. There are extra exercises, and answers to some of them are provided.

Med Stats On-line syllabus--An on-line syllabus for someone else's statistics course. This course covers many of the same topics we'll cover, and further explanation of some topics can be accessed by simply clicking on the underlined topics. Illustrations are included. This may be genuinely helpful to you if you need another explanation of any of the topics included.

Electronic Textbook StatSoft--This covers topics included in our course and topics beyond our course. If you are looking for another explanation of a topic, this is one place to look.
