Fall 2010 Format

Exam review sessions will be held Monday nights 7-9 PM starting 3/21 and following the schedule below.  These sessions will focus on the May sitting for Exam 1/P.  Students currently taking STAT 414 are strongly encouraged to attend.

·         3/21/11 Introduction, Actex Sections 0, 1, 2, 3 (Calculus Review, Basic Probability, Conditional Probability, Permutations & Combinations)

·         3/28/11 Actex Section 4, 5 (Probability Distributions, Expectation & Distribution Parameters)

o   6-7 PM (0,1,2,3)

o   7-9 PM (4, 5)

·         4/4/11 Actex Section 6, 7 (Discrete Distributions, Continuous Distributions)

·         (update 3/28/10 2010 Syllabus changes some distributions no longer tested)

·         4/11/11 Actex Section 8 (Joint, Marginal, & Conditional Distributions)

·         4/18/11 Actex Section 9 (Function & Transformations of RV)

·         4/25/11 Actex Section 10 (Review of Risk Management Concepts)

 

 

(All sections are important to know, but 8 and 9 are by far the most difficult, so they’re probably the most useful sessions)
