RESEARCH AREAS:

Research Area 1: Flow of multi-phase fluids in deformed or deforming rocks and soils: Applications are hydrology, pollutant transport, and production of oil and gas

Research Area 2: Flow of unconsolidated sand and soil in the presence of multiple fluid phases: Applications are sand production in wells, mud and pyroclastic flows

Research Area 3: Use of high-resolution X-ray CT to study internal structure and processes. Use of special vessels allow studies under stress, pressure and temperature. Applications are as above plus applications in many other fields such as anthropology, foods, and materials
