Here's an Idea

So the Ideas program has hooked a lot of us up with professors with whom to do research next semester. Kind of pumped about this opportunity, I figured most undergrads would find it hard to get research opportunities. I've been assigned to Dr. Ocker, working on "Enhancing Learning in Global Teams." Right now I only have guesses to the exact sort of material this will entail. Perhaps we'll be working on concept sort of like this one I found over at our favorite conference, TED. Check out the clip, it's got some interesting ideas in it.

I hope to hear from everyone over the next semester and to share with them interesting experiences from our research opportunities.

Nice job dude. I am still hoping that I get one. I submitted it awhile ago, but have not yet been assigned a faculty member yet. But I am still holding out hope.

Yeah, I signed up to do a the Facebook Privacy research with Dr. Heng Xu. I will be meeting with her next week and I hope I am the chosen one! Hopefully this IST research position will be meaningful for our career.

I got paired with Jim Jansen, the Professor who presented the IDEAS program to us. I've only had one meeting with him, but he seems like an awesome guy. The tagline for the research is "Economics meets search," and the more I read about possible topics he suggested, the more interested I become.

Her e-mail address is "rocker@ist.psu.edu". That's so cool. You've like already got the best research gig right there.

Sounds like you'll be doing some interesting research. I'm working with Dr. Carleen Maitland and Andrea on "Technology for Humanitarian Organization Coordination". I'm really excited for next semester now that I have this project to be involved with.
