The Results are In
We have received and read the results from the conference evaluations. Thanks to the many who took time to give us feedback on how we did this year.
We were gratified that the vast majority of the comments were quite positive, and many applauded the committee's efforts in putting together the conference day. We were also given some solid constructive criticism that will be helpful as we move the conference forward.
From reading the comments this year and all of the years past, I realize that some attendees may not know that there are some things for which we have little or no control. One is the menu at the Penn Stater. We never know what is being served until it is set up and ready for everyone to eat. We have had excellent meals there, and we generally get very positive feedback to that end...though we cannot take the credit for it!
We also do not have control over the comfort of the venue. The Penn Stater makes the decisions as to how cool or warm each room is kept. They also are the ones who determine what style of seats are used in each room, and how the rooms may be set up. We do our best to ask for the rooms to be set in a way that accommodates the large number of attendees we anticipate in each session as comfortably as possible.
We will begin planning Web 2009 next month. I'll be writing here periodically to give an idea of what is going on.
The committee thanks you all for your comments and continued support of the Penn State Web Conference. Don't forget...if you didn't see a session on a topic that you wanted to see, you can note that on the interest survey that will go out in September...AND you can submit a proposal to present on the topic, or nominate someone who is quite knowledgeable in that area.
Thanks!
