Eastern Dirt Magazine writes:

Take a detailed tour of motocross history from an insiders point of view. See the humble beginnings of Supercross through the eyes of Tom Dertisis, the protagonist in a novel by Lee O'Dea. The Motocross Conformist is the story of a retired racer-turned-promoter who struggles to get the sport of motocross the respect it deserves. A story of fathers and sons, promoters and professional racers. O'Dea takes you on a wild ride of personal agendas, political entanglement, money and power, inner turmoil and battles with authority. The Motocross Conformist is a captivating read that will keep you turning the pages to find out what happens to Tom next. At 604 pages it's not something you will finish in a day. However it might be a pleasant trip down memory lane for many former racers who grew up with the sport during the 70's, 80' and 90's and it will surely provide an interesting history lesson for those who didn't.
