Leo Online Dictionary

This link will take you to the Leo Online German dictionary.  Be cautious, however—don’t always go for the first translation given!  Make sure you search the provided context examples for the right thing.

German Related Links

The following links are to sites that I have found helpful in my pursuit of German, and that should help you as well.  These include an online dictionary, as well as German news sources and blog outlets.  Please note that all links listed here will take you to outside websites.  You will have to use your browser’s “Back” function to return here.

Onlinenewspapers.com

This site has links to different news sources all over the world, including an extensive selection of German news sources.  This is especially helpful for finding news sources from specific localities, as well as major news providers.

Der Spiegel

Der Spiegel is a major news magazine in Germany, comparable to Time or Newsweek in the US.  Articles are available both in German and English.

Die Zeit

By giving students access to Die Zeit, they will be able to see a newspaper website comparable to that of the New York times.

MTV Germany

Students can access MTV Germany’s Website in order to learn about popular music and culture in Germany—what is the same, what is different.

Bravo

Via the Bravo website, students can have access to the latest in German youth culture.  They can see what their age peers are interested in and concerned about, and compare that to their own lives.
