The NCGMP group runs two research seminars together with a third graduate student-led seminar.  The group has good ties with the Penn State physics department’s Institute for Gravitation and the Cosmos as well as to other research centers within the mathematics department.  Group members are active in advising and mentoring students.

Key research areas represented in the work of NCGMP group members include:

        • symplectic and Poisson geometry

        • operator algebras and geometric analysis

        • non-commutative geometry

        • integrable systems

        • quantization

        • algebraic topology and K-theory

        • infinite-dimensional geometry

        • Lie theory

        • representation theory
