Tie Tying

Last week, I traversed over to Valley Forge for a half-day interview session with Vanguard, hoping to obtain an internship for this summer. The trip, the hotel, the interviews, the meals, and the presentations all went well, and overall, it was a great experience. However, because of the formality of the situation, I, of course, had to deal with the always dreadful task of tying my tie (aka becoming so angry with that strangely-shaped piece of fabric that I want to tear it into a million pieces...and then attempting to do so, despite the fact that it's wrapped around my neck, and the only thing I actually achieve by pulling at it is cutting off my supply of oxygen). Face red and covered in sweat, I managed to look half presentable by the time it was all said and done. But it was not a pleasant process, I assure you.

So, this afternoon, when I came across this brilliant little webpage (equipped with detailed descriptions of how to tie a variety of knots and plenty of multimedia), I was at first furious, because it was about 5 days too late. But, then I realized that it could be an extremely valuable resource down the road, whenever the situation arises again. I bookmarked it immediately, but I thought posting it here might be helpful to other unskilled tie tiers like myself.

And without further ado, my favoritest of knots, the Half-Windsor!
