Captivate 4 (Veela)

I've been testing Adobe Captivate 4 for the past year, and we got the go ahead from Adobe to begin blogging about the tool.

At the recent Adobe Learning Summit, I had a chance to meet with some of the Captivate team, especially Shameer Ayyappan, the product manager, who just happens to be a Penn State Grad! We had some good discussions about the product and where it is headed. I must admit that I have been very impressed and pleased with where Shameer has lead the team in their development of a very robust e-learning development tool.

Captivate will become the core of a new e-learning suite that Adobe is developing for release in early 2009. Without going into great detaila bout the suite, it will be a very robust, varied suite of closely integrated applications that will allow us to to create better end-to-end e-learning solutions.

Here is a blog entry from Steve Howard, another of the beta testers for Captivate 4, that takes a good look at the features coming in Captivate 4:

Without reinventing the wheel, Steve's outline of the new features is a good one. I, too, will be posting my thoughts on some of these features in the coming weeks, as I am looking forward to getting my hands on this tool and getting to work with it.
