About Me
Name: Mark Salvatore
Hometown: Cresskill, New Jersey, a small suburb just northwest of New York City
Date of Birth: 21 February 1986
Hobbies: Baseball, music, TV, reading, hanging out with friends, space stuff, the usual...
Education: I graduated from Cresskill High School in 2004. I played baseball for four years and was a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and Music National Honor Society. I recently graduated from Penn State University (University Park) where I majored in Physical Geography and Geographic Information Systems, and minored in Climatology.
Field of Study: I am currently studying Geology with a specialization in Planetary Geosciences.
Activities: I just moved to Providence, Rhode Island in July, 2008. I am currently getting adjusted to the lifestyle of graduate school, and I hope to get involved with a lot of different things while in New England.
Future Plans: I will be working towards my Ph. D. for the next few years under the supervision of Dr. Jack Mustard and Dr. Mike Wyatt. Afterwards, I hope to remain in the planetary science research community.
Career Goals: I eventually would love to do research and/or teach at a university. It's also always been a dream of mine to be an astronaut, and I think that can still be a possibility considering my current path, so we'll see how that goes.
