RELATIONSHIP: Hi all! To the right is the most recent picture of my fiance Mike and me. As most of you know, we will be getting married soon near Philadelphia. We will finally make it official! Haha. If you would like to link to Mike's PSU site, mouse over and click on the picture. Click on the following links for pictures of The Wedding and The Honeymoon.

For those who enjoy a good story, the short version of how we met is that we met up at UPark shortly after Fall 2004 started. Then I clicked my ruby slippers and shortly after we were married on June 23, 2007. For the long and more interesting story, talk to either one of us =)

INTERESTS: I am quite "healthy" in that I work out regularly but I am by no means a really fit person. Before I met Mike the only thing I liked doing was swimming in a chlorinated pool. Mike has introduced me to hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, snorkeling, etc. I thank God for bringing us together because otherwise I would be a really boring person!

Also, when I am not an academic robot, I love reading, knitting, and playing my violin. I have played the violin since I was 11 but sadly I have not played in a regular orchestra since Spring 2004.

Aside from that, I am a proud Macintosh enthusiast. Since I am lazy to go through the process of asking for permission, let us pretend that there is an apple logo to the right ----->. Unlike Mike, I cannot fix my Mac so ifit is broken I will rush to the nearest computer lab that houses Macs. Like the average Joe, I surf the internet a lot and end up wasting my time on Facebook or staring at the same CNN news feed for hours upon hours.

PETS: I've had a host of pets since I was little. I will not count the dogs I had in the Philippines because they were mean and I do not remember much of them. Anyway, first I had pet hamsters. They were supposed to be rats for a science project, but since the pet store did not have any in stock, we bought hamsters. When we moved to the United States in 1994, we had to leave these behind. The fates of my first hamsters are unknown, but seeing as that they do not live past the age of 2, they probably died shortly after we moved. Then, after a couple more hamsters, we got 2 snakes and a praying mantis. Our fun was short lived for the mantis died after giving birth, one of the snakes died, and we had to give the other snake away. However, we ended up getting two cats, and currently they are our present pets. Their names are Priya and Mohinder.

FAMILY: My parents are Romeo and Elizabeth Olida. Papa is an electronics engineer working at Kulicke & Soffa Industries while Mama is an engineering graduate that now works in Touchtone Wireless. I have an older sister named Nikki. She is an EE major here at Penn State. I thank God that they are an awesome, loving, and generous family =)

We were all born in the Philippines but moved to Singapore in 1990. We then moved to the United States in 1994 only to move back to Singapore during a 1.5 year expatriate stint. Both times I experienced two different school systems. The first time in Singapore I was in a parochial school and the second time I was placed the Singapore American School (SAS) system. After that short (but really great) time in Singapore, I am finally in the United States to stay (at least for now) and am working towards my Ph.D. Mike, on the other hand, will be attending graduate school in either the University of Pittsburgh or back here at Penn State depending on his decision. **Update** Mike has decided to stay here at Penn State with me. Yay! He is in the BMMB graduate department.
