Course Design

Design Summary
The project's goal is to completely redevelop the 1-credit Biology 12 wet lab course so that it will be delivered completely online for the Spring 2010 semester. The design will build upon the successful Biology 12 lab pilot delivered in Spring 2009. In the new Biology 12 course, students will take the course through a series of online learning modules in a self-paced, asynchronous format.  With this redesign, the Biology department will take the opportunity to create an entire new set of course goals. These course goals will focus on teaching students how to utilize the scientific method to make educated and informed conclusions and decisions about current, relevant scientific/biology issues.  Accordingly, the course design and materials will be geared toward the student's development of the required skills and knowledge to perform this scientific thinking.

This is the Biology 12 Design document. Please note that it is still a working draft.
