    • listening to and obsessively arranging my digital tunes library: creating playlists, making sure each tune has been played the right number of times to reflect that it's better than those with fewer counts but not as good as those with more, looking up discography on the web, etc.
    • playing my 1870s reed organ--infrequently, partly because the instrument needs a lot of TLC
    • playing a piano?!?! I have not had a piano in my dwelling since I moved from home to college at age 18 in 1980--in the intervening years, when possible, I have "borrowed" university music building practice rooms that did not appear to be reserved to keep up a modicum of proficiency; during my high school years, my parents purchased a decent console piano for me, seeing as I was taking more advanced lessons (I took 10 years of piano lessons overall, then 3 years of pipe organ lessons)...now in 2012, my Mom, who will be downsizing from a duplex to an apt. in her retirement village, is going to ship me *that* piano, the one purchased for me in the late '70s. I am so excited! Just the tactile feel of the key action beneath my fingers will positively activate an area of my brain, possibly releasing endorphins!
