I’m not saying these aren’t important, just that they have gotten less important in relationship to things like TV and the internet.  They periodically can become very important.  Just think of the role of talk-radio in politics in the rise of the republicans to majority party status in this country.  Btw. do you know the difference between Rush Limbaugh and the Hindenburg (if you don’t get this reference see here)?
