About Me

I am a fourth year NSF graduate research fellow studying sex chromsome evolution at Penn State University.

I take advantage of every opportunity I have to participate in or organize public science outreach, generally for the K-12 age group.

I am quite vocal about education standards in the US, especially math and science education and am constantly seeking out productive, efficient and reliable ways to increase both the quality of science taught in K-12, and to promote active student involvement.

Feel free to comment on my blog, mathbionerd, especially about ways to promote the importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) to the general public.
