| My work
focuses on issues of international migration, which I believe is and
will remain one of the main social concerns of this century, as people
move around the world in search of opportunities (and to flee
conflict), and governments struggle to deal with integration,
diversity, and inequality. Specifically, my research interests include immigrant economic adaptation, particularly self-employment and job turnover; immigration, household structures and kinship relations; social networks; and migration and development. Methodologically I am interested in improving sampling strategies in migration research, new applications of spatial tools and ethnographic data, and linking quantitative and qualitative data in cultural anthropology.

I have also included dozens of links I have relied on throughout my graduate school career, from professional associations to migration resources, spatial tools, and statistics tutorials.
