2010 - Present: Multimedia Specialist
Pennsylvania State University, World Campus Learning Design
- Developing tools for accessible, interactive content and integrating them into a CMS to make multimedia development scalable.
- Creating instructional videos, audio files, images, and interactive simulations as part of a four-person team for hundreds Online course sections per semester.
- Recommending appropriate use of media in course content.
- Educating instructional designers and subject matter experts on do-it-yourself multimedia.
2007 - 2010: Technology Training Coordinator
Pennsylvania State University, University Libraries
- Coordinated training efforts within University Libraries' 20 departments, 20 campus library locations, and 11 subject library locations.
- Envisioned and led TechTips Road Show, a traveling conference in miniature, regional campus events, gaining goodwill from campus faculty and staff.
- Served as project manager, as well as member of the programming and registration subcommittees, for Libraries Discovery Day, a day-long staff development day for Libraries faculty and staff at University Park.
- Contributed to Network of Trainers Summer Social, Learning Design Summer Camp, and Gaming in the Libraries planning committees.
- Represented University Libraries' technology training interests in University-wide groups.
- Conducted departmental and campus needs assessment for faculty and staff technology training.
- Planned training opportunities as part of Penn State University Libraries migration from Meeting Maker to Oracle Calendar. Analyzed assessment data to determine best practice for training delivery.
2004 - 2007: Interim Supervisor/Programmer Analyst

- Served as an Interim Associate Director of 9 IT & MM staff (6 FTEs and 3 Wage) for over one year as unit searched for an Associate Director of Instructional Technology and Multimedia, providing first draft for annual reviews in this role.
- With input from design staff, redesigned internal applications to improve workflow and to reflect internal reorganization.
- Used Wikis as a strategy for management of institutional knowledge transfer.
- Developed XSLT templates for the homebrewed content management system.
- Explored open-source wikis for class use.
2004-2004: Project Data Specialist
Pennsylvania State University, Pennsylvania Transportation Institute
- Administered project and finance databases.
- Administered HTML, ASP.NET and Cold Fusion-powered Websites.
- Designed database & Web applications with VBA and VB.NET for faculty research and state funded projects.
