My Curriculum
Brief biography
I was born in Lima, Peru, where I lived and studied the most part of my life. I am currently a PhD student at Penn State University. Here, I am studying Latin American Literature and Human Geography. Both are fields that I love and enjoy because they offer me a particular sense of the world. In the case of Literature, I do believe that fiction is just another way to keep us in touch with the reality; and in the case of Human Geography, I do believe that our location in the world can positively change oneself or alienate it. In any case, it is worth to be aware of our words and of our place in the world.

Ramdom things about me: I enjoy watching Science Fiction Japanesse Animes and I would like to do a survey about the representation of cyborgs' labor force and its disposability. I think that some of Donna Haraway's ideas on capitalist means of production have been inspiring and influential in this respect.
Another different interest has to do with one of my experiences as an unergraduate: When I was living in Peru, I had the opportunity to read some texts about linguistics problems as dyslexia. This fact gave me the opportunity to collaborate with some lay groups in helping some children who lived this kind of problems. I would be glad to do it again. Feel free to contact me, send me an E-mail lac321@psu.edu
I also enjoy swimmining and biking, however I go to the gym when I cannot practice the formers, which happens most of the time during the winter. Leaving that aside, I love dogs: I have one, but long distance relationships are difficult to manage... my dog is in Peru...
