My Maps

I know this has been out for awhile but I thought it was cool enough to share anyway.

A few weeks ago, Google announced the release of the "my maps" feature at Google Maps. It took me all of 5 minutes to create a personalized map that became immediately useful in my personal life. I made a map that provided directions to and attributes of soccer fields in State College so that when we communicate with opposing coaches, they can plan accordingly. It's easy to see how valuable this could be in work constructs. If you've made any cool "my maps", please drop me a line or share them here.

Kevin, thanks for the look on this... I will work on doing the same for Bellefonte... since no one seems to be able to find our spring and fall travel fields :)

Hi Kevin,

I used MyMaps this mast week. I went to Pittsbugh with my wife for a quite weekend. We looks at a number of things we wanted to do as tourist in Pittsburgh, the Phipps conservatory (nice if you like plants and flower, the Carnegie Museum, the Strip, the Science Center, restaurants, etc.). I developed an itinerary, used the search to find locations, placed pushpins on the locations and generated driving directions between all the sites. It was great to visually see the distances between locations and have full driving directions between the venues. I have this saved if I ever what to go back and pick up the things I missed on the next visit.

While not specifically a map, this page has a nice list of all Google's services on one simple screen:
