My spouse, John T. Harwood, is associate vice provost for Information Technology, as well as a faculty member in the School of Information Sciences and Technology and the Department of English. He is a teacher-scholar-administrator who thrives on the intellectual opportunities and logistical challenges of a large institution. He is also an Episcopal priest and serves both an Episcopal and a Lutheran church in Renovo, Pennsylvania. On a typical day, he'll exercise his talents in the kitchen while I exercise Blaze, our exuberant German shepherd, over hill and dale. Other pursuits include music, theatre, travel, and collecting Hugolia.

Our son Benjamin graduated from Penn State with a B.A. in French Literature, taught American language and culture on a Fulbright at the Lycˇe Thˇophile Gautier in Tarbes, France, and is presently an instructional technologist at Skidmore College in upstate New York. He completed his master's degree in Instructional Systems at Penn State in 2004.

We are equally proud of our daughter Elisabeth, who is employed at Microsoft after graduating from the University of Washington with a B.F.A in Photography and a B.S. in Political Economics.
