Pedagogical InovationsANGEL course space: This course space in Penn State's online course management system is used by both students and instructors to communicate. Materials for class are posted to be downloaded and homework is found in a separate folder. In ANGEL, messages can be sent to the entire class, the instructor, or a selected group of classmates, making communication easier.
Gradebook: The gradebook in ANGEL allows instructors to easily mananage the grades of all students in their classes. It also permits students to access their own grades and keep track of their progress.
ANGEL Quizzes: These sample quizzes for ANGEL test students' knowledge of vocabulary related to sports and the -er and -ir verbs in the Spanish present tense
This grammar quiz about the present tense in Spanish uses the theme of parties to contextualize grammatical information. Pictured here is a multiple choice activity in which the student is required to choose the correct verb to complete the sentence.
This sports-themed vocabulary quiz tells the story about the summer sports activies a groups of friends has planned. This fill-in-the-blank activity asks students to produce the correct vocabulary word as prompted by the picture. Calendar: The calendar function in ANGEL allows instructors and students post information about important upcoming dates.
Message Board: This two-way communications message board allows members of the course, as well as the instructor, to start discussion forums and stay connected.
