Monday monday....

I probably shouldn't have left out a whole weekend to repost on this blog, but time was of the essence. It involved lack of sleep, gameday, and lots of Sunday rest before I attacked my homework. This could be an interesting time to type a new blog, but I feel I should ramble a bit about the class I sit in: Computer Science 101. This class so far is very easy, due to experience not only in another programming language, but also because I independently studied C++ (the language we are learning) my senior year. This class I know is important toward my IST major, but I don't feel very challenged by it so far. I know I'm not alone. One glance around the room and I see game sites, other people on Google's RSS feeder, and Facebook checkers. My roommate even considered packing a pillow if to use if the class is not worthwhile. Regardless, I know that I can get some extra sleep some days if I really need it.

Something I enjoy checking for those of you who like Google Earth is Google Sight Seeing. It also has a nice RSS feed for updates and points out intriguing parts of the world that appear or that users submit themselves.

The thing about those people playing games and checking their email and things is that not all of them are "not challenged" by the material. In my experiences, programming classes lend themselves to morons who would rather play around on the internet than do any of the work as much as they lend themselves to serious code-junkies who finish everything in minutes and then have nothing better to do. Bummer you can't just test out of it though. Sounds like a total drag.

I am also in a boring C++ class . I already no a decent amount about so I facebook most of the time. I am worried though that the exams will be on the vocabulary of C++ instead of actual programming skills.

Yeah, I would have to agree with Josh. We are in the same comp sci class, and it is literally impossible to pay attention in class. With a grad student teaching with a heavy Indian accent, a computer in front of you, and previous programming experience, the class is what I call a facebook class. A class to go on facebook.

I am scheduled to take C++ in the spring. I hope its not as borning to me. I took it in high school to but in the 10th grade.

I'm kind of curious: how did the exam go? I have that class at 4:40 M-W-F and I did ok. Anyone have programming experience outside of C++? I would love to learn a little from somebody who knows what they're talking about. It's tough (not to mention not as fun) having to teach yourself!
