About

I am an instructional designer in Outreach and Online Education within the College of Liberal Arts at Penn State University. In this role, I work with faculty to design and develop new online courses, and support the ongoing delivery and revision of the online course portfolio.

Previously, I have developed training for organizations small and large, from startups to Lawrence Livermore National Labs and Oakland Unified School District. Instructional design allows me to employ my passion for teaching, keen eye for design, and systematic approach to problem-solving to create powerful and effective learning experiences. For more information on my professional experience, please visit my portfolio.

I am excited by web 2.0 technologies and the availability of powerful, free tools that foster learning, engagement, and creativity. I am an avid user of Wordpress, Google Docs, Twitter, Facebook, and other social media, always with an eye on the teaching applications such tools provide. I rely on the rigor built into the ADDIE model to ensure that new technologies are indeed effective.

I hold a Masters Degree in Education in Instructional Technologies from San Francisco State University. I completed a Bachelors Degree in English at Stonehill College.
