DEGREE AUDIT- QUICK REFERENCE

*Always select “alternate” unless you are a junior or senior, already in your major.

*Check that the audit is for the correct major

The first part of the audit shows:

·         Late drop credits remaining

·         Registration date for next semester

·         Grades for last semester

·         Schedule for this semester

Major Requirements:

·         Check for courses that also apply to general education requirements

·         Check for courses that need a grade of “C” or better to count

 

Option Requirements & College Requirements:

·         Read directions/requirements carefully

·         Sometimes many courses are listed but students are only required to choose one or two from the list

General Education Requirements

 

Electives:

·         Check that what you scheduled went to the correct section in the audit  and not to the elective category

·         FYS almost always appears in the elective category

 

400 level requirement:

·         Met by courses taken inside major (major requirements)

 

High School Language section:

·         Language- entrance requirement either met or not met upon admission

·         If entrance requirement not met, must schedule one college level language course (minimally)

 

Writing:

·         “W”  selection is usually met by a course inside the major

 

International + Intercultural Requirements (for most current students):

·         3 credit US

·         3 credit IL

 

Minimum credits for graduation:

·         Remember just a count not substantive
