I can't stand when smart people misuse grammar. Actually, I can't stand when anyone misuses grammar, but it especially bugs me when smart people do it. How is it possible to graduate at the top of your class but not know the difference between "your" and "you're"? "Hear" and "here"? Come on now. Who vs whom is slightly harder, but all you have to do is type grammar into Google and about 5 million helpful websites will come up. I've included a few of the better ones for you. learn it! your future depends on it...

I found another good one, but it is from the Purdue University, so I am refusing to post it. Those should be enough, though. Check them out, okay?

I also abhor when people have bad grammar and spelling. The Internet seems to encourage people being "lazy" and allows them to type in shorthand, which I feel is the root of the problem. I don't know if this is true for everyone, but I type much faster than I write by hand, so I think the excuse that "I don't know how to type" is a poor excuse for bad spelling and grammar online.

Heh, actually, my roommate's boyfriend left a note on our whiteboard the other day. Someone had written "whoever ♥s my roommate" and he wrote "boyfriend ♥s my roommate more then whoever" and I had to run down the hall looking for a working marker in order to fix it.
Some don't bother me, and especially in things like IM chats, people need to chill the hell out, but it does make you look like an idiot if you missuse it. People on devART are terrible with your/you're... *shudder*
