Shawn Pickering

Current Position: Ph.D. Student
Education B.S. Lock Haven Univ.
Email: spickering0885@gmail.com
Phone Number: (570)332-1943
Research Interests: I am currently working with CdSe quantum dots to create high brightness LEDs. I am also working on turning the LEDs into a matrix array similar to a display. The martix display being my main focus of research for my degree which includes; matrix display driving systems, high brightness LEDs, uniformity over the array, and new patterning methods.

Jie Liu

Current Position: Ph.D. Student
Education B.S. Tsinghua Univ.; M.S. Tsinghua Univ.
Email: liujielj@gmail.com
Phone Number: (814)863-6488
Research Interests: I am currently investigating the naon-radiative energy coupling between colloidal nanocrystal quantum dots and indium gallium nitride quantum wells towards high-efficiency solid state lighting. In addition, I am also involved in the project of developing nano-scale frequency-upconverted semiconductor lasers.

Aaron Todd

Position: M.S. Student
Education B.S. Penn State Univ.
Email: amt928@psu.edu
Phone Number: (610)324-2346
Research Interests: I am currently studying the radiation effect on nanocomposite solar cells. I am focusing on the effect of gamma radiation on the solar cell microstructure and performance by using data extracted from I-V curves and mobility measurements (TOF and CELIV). I plan to pursue a Ph.D. studying radiation detection with novel nanocrystal composite structures.

Myo Thein

Position: Ph.D. Student
Education B.S. Penn State Univ.
Email: mmt163@psu.edu
Phone Number: (814)863-6488
Research Interests: My research focuses on fabrication, optimization, and characterization of cell–based microelectrode array impedance sensors and ultrasonic micro–transducer arrays. These devices can be used in toxin detection, drug screening, and drug delivery studies. I am also working on theoretical modeling of cell–electrode hetero–junction and cell membrane structures. These models can be employed in cell–based impedance sensing.
