MITMAN, Gregg
Professor, Science and Technology Studies; with joint appointments in History of Science and History of Medicine, University of Wisconsin- Madison. His books include Reel Nature: America’s Romance with Wildlife on Film (1999, Winner of the 2000 Watson Davis and Helen Miles Davis Prize for the History of Science Society), and The State of Nature: Ecology, Community, and American Social Thought, 1900-1950 (1992, Winner of the 1994 Gustave O. Arlt Award in the Humanities from the Council of Graduate Schools). With Lorraine Daston, he is co-editor of Thinking with Animals: New Perspectives on Anthropomorphism (2005)
