MAZOW, Alissa Walls
Alissa Walls Mazow will receive her Ph.D. in art history this May from The Pennsylvania State University, where she wrote a dissertation entitled “Plantae, Animalia, Fungi: Transformations of Natural History in Contemporary American Art.” Her work on this project was supported by a Douglass Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. Dr. Walls Mazow has published on such topics as mushrooms and elevators. She has taught at Bucknell University, and is presently an instructor in the departments of Art History and Science, Technology, and Society at Penn State.
