CHAIKLIN, Martha
Assistant Professor of History, University of Pittsburgh. She is the author of Dutch Commerce and Dutch Commercial Culture: The Influence of European Material Culture on Japan, 1700-1850 (2003), and “Exotic Bird Collecting in Early Modern Japan,” in JAPANimals, ed. Greg Pflugfelder and Brett Walker (2005). She is currently researching the ivory trade in early modern Asia.
