About

I am currently the manager of the Software Solutions Group within the Consulting Support Services department of Information Technology Services.  I have been at Penn State since 11/1998.  Before that I was a Senior Systems Engineer at Raytheon Systems Corporation, State College Headquarters.

I am a proud graduate of the Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania.  My major was Computer Science with an emphasis on Business Systems.  I graduated Magma Cum Laude back in May of 1986.  I attended the Lock Haven High School where I was a 1982 graduate.

The purpose of this site is to provide the community at large with my views about Software Design and Development.  I have been actively involved in lots of projects over the past 20 years.  Working at Raytheon gave me a great insight into a formal software process.  When I came to Penn State, I was somewhat upset with the complete lack of process within my unit.  It has been my quest for the last ten years to instill some discipline when it comes to software development.  I feel that I have been somewhat successful.  I look forward to engaging the community via this blog as my forum to present new ideas and have great discussions.
