From ITS

LionCash+ Merchants,

This coming Saturday (May 30, 2009) the Blackboard system will be taken down for scheduled database maintenance.  The system will be taken down beginning at 7am Saturday and will remain down until approximately 10pm that night. During this time frame the following will be in effect for LionCash+ Merchants:

1.       LionCash+ Merchants who use dial-up devices (Tranz terminals) will not be able to process any transactions.
2.       LionCash+ Merchants who use an interface between their Point of Sales system and our server will not be able to process any transactions.
3.       LionCash+ Merchants who are using Blackboard Activity Readers and/or Miniwedges will be able to store the offline transactions on their readers which will feed up to the server once it's back up and running.

We will be sending out another notice once the system is back up and running properly, as well as before then if called for.  We appreciate your understanding during this necessary down time.

Sincerely,
Sean Curling

Hoagie Sale/Craft Sale

The United Way Committee is having a hoagie sale to coincide with it's craft sale.  The craft sale and hoagie delivery will be on Thursday, June 11.  Hoagies are for sale beginning today and can be ordered until Wednesday, June 3.  The order form is on the table beneath the mailboxes.  The hoagies are from Homan's and they're good.  Plus, depending on how many are ordered, Homan makes a donation back to the United Way Committee, so it's a good deal all around.

Helping Out Life Sciences

Because Life Sciences closes their desk at 7:00 on the days we're open until 9:00, we're going to help them out at closing and at 8:00 p.m.  At 8:00, just make a brief walk-through and make sure all is safe and secure.  At 9:00, after closing here, make a walk-through and see that the floor is clear.  Then, when you sign out for EBSL, sign out for Life Sciences as well.  If you have any questions, let me know.

Journals

When you're shelving journals and you find that the shelf label is missing, please give it to me.  If I'm not here, put it in my mailbox with a note.  That way I can find out if it's new, if it belongs elsewhere, or I need to make a new label. New titles should come with a note, but the serials department doesn't always do that.

The crowds are starting to thin out a bit, it seems.  And all is quiet on the news front.  Have a great day.

Meebo

Has anyone had any questions on Meebo?  Plus, if you haven't done this, you may want to - you can set up meebo so that it automatically launches in Firefox the minute you open Firefox.  See me and I'll get you set up.
