How to Embed a PowerPoint

Introduction

The instruction set below will guide you through the process of embedding a PowerPoint without narration into a blog entry or page. Your audience will be able to view the presentation directly from your site.  It's also possible to link a narrated PowerPoint within an entry or page, a separate instruction set can be found here.


NOTE: PowerPoint saved as a .ppt or .pps file, a Gmail account, and an account on blogs.psu.edu are required.


Embedding the PowerPoint

1.      Access Google.


2.      Sign In, found in the top right corner.


3.      Click more at the top of the page.

4.      Click even more at the bottom of the drop down menu and More Google Products will appear.


5.      Click Docs, under Communicate, show & share.


6.      Click Upload in the tool bar.


7.      Click Browse under Browse your computer to select a file to upload.


8.      Click Upload File. The PowerPoint will show on the screen after Google converts the file.


9.      Click the Share button at the top right, above the tool bar.


10.  Click Publish/Embed in the drop down menu.


11.  Click Publish document if This document is not yet published screen appears.


12.  Copy the html code in the text box.

 

Ex.  <iframe src='http://docs.google.com/EmbedSlideshow?id=dhs9jmjw_4f2d5qpd2' frameborder='0' width='410' height='342'></iframe>

 

13.  Access blogs.psu.edu.


14.  Log in


15.  When the desired page or entry is selected, click the <A> button.


16.  Paste the html code from step 12 into the preferred location in the text box.


17.  Click the A button to view the PowerPoint within the entry or page.


18.  Save the entry or page.


19.  Publish and view the final entry or page.


You're PowerPoint is now available for viewing.
